Welcome to Cascades Elementary School
We are very excited to have this state-of-the-art school building. Students will be learning in a 21st century environment where technology is key to student learning. Our entryways are renovated to be safe and secure. Cascades Elementary is a Y5 – 5th grade neighborhood school with outstanding academic and social opportunities for its students.
At Cascades Elementary, children will receive a strong
educational and emotional foundation necessary for their future success. The teachers and staff believe that all students can learn at high levels. The highly qualified staff, advanced technology, along with many educational/social emotional programs are the keys to our achievement level.
Families are encouraged to visit and engage in their children’s education. Our doors are always open and Cascades is proud to be a part of the Jackson Community.

Cascades Weekly Announcements
Good Evening Cascades Families!
This is Mr. Lewis with this week’s Cascades Elementary announcements.
March is Reading Month!
We still need volunteers to read to our classes this week—your presence would go a long way in demonstrating that reading is essential. If you can volunteer, please contact Becky Burton at becky.burton@jpsk12.org or call the school at 517-841-3900 to coordinate classes and times.
Spring Break Reminder
Spring Break begins this Friday, March 21st, so we will have a short week. School will be in session Monday through Thursday, with classes resuming on Monday, March 28th.
Mileage Club Launch
When we return, we will kick off our Mileage Club as part of our effort to promote movement and health among our students. This program will allow students to track the distance they walk and work toward personal fitness goals.
Student Expectations
Please take a moment to review our school expectations—Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe—with your child before they come to school. Reinforcing these values at home helps ensure a positive experience for all students at Cascades.
Academic Progress Updates
At Cascades, we are committed to working with you to support your child’s growth. To keep you informed, we post weekly updates on your student’s progress in Math and English Language Arts in PowerSchool. You can check grades and mastery levels through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Information on how to access the portal was sent home before winter break. If you need help setting it up, please reply to this email or call the school at 517-841-3900.
The Cascades staff is grateful for the opportunity to partner with you and your family. Together, we make the Jackson community stronger—one day at a time, one student at a time.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and always remember:
Today, like every day, is a great day to be a Viking!
Best,
Mr. Lewis
