Welcome to Cascades Elementary School

We are very excited to have this state-of-the-art school building. Students will be learning in a 21st century environment where technology is key to student learning. Our entryways are renovated to be safe and secure. Cascades Elementary is a Y5 – 5th grade neighborhood school with outstanding academic and social opportunities for its students.

At Cascades Elementary, children will receive a strong
educational and emotional foundation necessary for their future success. The teachers and staff believe that all students can learn at high levels. The highly qualified staff, advanced technology, along with many educational/social emotional programs are the keys to our achievement level.

Families are encouraged to visit and engage in their children’s education. Our doors are always open and Cascades is proud to be a part of the Jackson Community.

Cascades Elementary Equity Goal
Cascades staff and students will create a culture of respect and collaboration so all will positively engage in the school community.

Cascades Weekly Announcements

Week of January 19, 2025

Good evening, this is Mr. Lewis with this week’s Cascades Elementary announcements.

I hope this weekend has been restful for you and your family. Please remember that there will be no school tomorrow in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. If you can, take a moment to reflect on the rights and freedoms we all enjoy, made possible by the intellect, hard work, and sacrifices of great Americans. Tomorrow, we honor one of them: Dr. King.

As temperatures drop, please ensure your children are dressed warmly with coats, hats, and gloves to keep them safe during this cold weather.

This week, we will begin our winter diagnostic testing, which will continue over the next two weeks. These tests will help us assess the progress your student has made since the fall and guide us in setting up the necessary supports to help them succeed. Please encourage your child to do their very best.

We are pleased to announce that we have hired Ms. Rachel VanFleet as our newest third-grade teacher. She will be replacing Mrs. Gleed, who left before the break. Ms. VanFleet is excited to get to know your students and help them grow as scholars.

On a bittersweet note, we must share that Mrs. Good has decided to move on from Cascades. Her knowledge and dedication to sharing the joy of music with our students will be greatly missed. We are working to find her replacement and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.

The staff at Cascades is grateful for the opportunity to partner with you and your families. Together, we make the Jackson community stronger—one day at a time and one student at a time. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and always remember: today, like every day, is a great day to be a Viking!
