Welcome to Cascades Elementary School
Welcome to the new Cascades Elementary! We are very excited to begin a new year with a stateof-the-art school building. Students will be learning in a 21st century environment where technology is key to student learning. Our entryways are renovated to be safe and secure. Cascades Elementary is a Y5 – 5th grade neighborhood school with outstanding academic and social opportunities for its students. At Cascades Elementary, children will receive a strong educational and emotional foundation necessary for their future success. The teachers and staff believe that all students can learn at high levels. The highly qualified staff, advanced technology, along with many educational/social emotional programs are the keys to our achievement level. Families are encouraged to visit and engage in their children’s education. Our doors are always open and Cascades is proud to be a part of the Jackson Community.
WIN
Faculty and staff at Cascades Elementary believe all students can learn at high levels. Cascades Elementary provides excellent classroom instruction followed up with WIN (What I Need) time four days a week. During WIN time, every Cascades Elementary student receives individualized instruction in small groups to get what they need to grow and excel and provide support for those who are struggling. WIN time is also able to offer enrichment for those who need to be challenged. Michigan Academic Standards are taught, and learning is made visible by breaking each standard down into learning targets written in kid-friendly language. We are also a PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support) school that makes social emotional well-being a priority.
In the Neighborhood
Cascades Park allows staff to explore, have fun and use Science to educate students. Parents, staff and students work together to prepare students to become considerate, self-sufficient, contributing citizens in our global society.

Differentiated Instruction
Cascades Elementary teachers and staff utilize differentiated instruction to meet the needs of each student. In addition to academics, a strong enrichment program provides every student with the opportunity to participate in Art, Physical Education and Music on a weekly basis. Cascades Elementary partners with the community to enhance each child’s elementary experience. These partnerships offer students the ability to take part in programs such as Girl Scouts, TRUE Community Credit Union, Kiwanis Mentoring, mobile dentist, food backpack program, Jackson College and National Reading • Month guest(s).
